Deul is nature resort located on the right bank of Ajay River, on the backdrop of Gurjanjal forest. River Ajay flows on one side and the other side is tropical forest of year old dense Sal trees. If you like the scenic beauty of tropical Bengal this place is must see. Away from the city crowds, speeding vehicles a picturesque hamlet offers fresh air with full of life.
Deul The earlier name of Santiniketan was Bhubandanga, on the name of the Jamindar, Bhuban Sinha (Land-lord) father of Satyendra Prasanno Sinha. Lord Satyendra Prasanno Sinha (Singh) gave this land to by Maharshi Devendra Nath Thakur, father of Noble prize winner poet Rabindranath Tagore in the year 1862 for a noble mission, to set up a school. Although there are no documentary proof is available that this piece of land was sold or donated.
